European action plan on the digitalization of the energy sector

European action plan on the digitalization of the energy sector

Dec 02, 2022

In October 2022, the European Commission formally proposed an action plan on the digitalisation of the energy sector. It aims to promote the digital transformation of European energy production, consumption, and infrastructure systems. Use technology to improve energy efficiency and promote the integration of renewable energy into the grid.

This means that industries such as photovoltaics and new energy electric vehicles will benefit from this in the future. The European Commission proposes to use the EU's energy network to make the best use of land when increasing investment in renewable energy. Therefore, ground solar mounting and greenhouse solar projects will continue.

According to the European Commission, solar panels will be installed on the roofs of all commercial and public buildings in the EU region by 2027, and solar panels will be installed on the roofs of all new residential buildings in the EU region by 2029. Therefore, the market for the solar energy industry will be very hot.

The plan accelerates the EU's transition to renewable energy. Solar energy is one of the cheapest sources of electricity, so scaling up solar installations is extremely important.
